Researcher for ELLs with Disabilities
This position will be the WIDA policy and accommodation expert on how to best assess and serve children with disabilities as part of the comprehensive WIDA standards and assessment system. Specifically, the candidate will manage the on-going development of the Alternate ACCESS for ELLs (Alternate ACCESS), English language proficiency test, which was developed specifically for students with significant cognitive disabilities. Additionally, he/she will conduct extensive policy research to inform the recommended accommodations or alternate assessments developed for other physically challenged students such as the blind or deaf.

ELL Educator Resource Developer
Develop research-based resources for educators in support of instructing Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade English language learners. Promote the use of the WIDA English Language Development (ELD) Standards and research-based practice through the development of materials such as publications, newsletters, online learning modules, correlations to curricular materials, and other resources. Coordinate outreach efforts to involve educators in the development of such resources. Serve as a liaison to the Professional Development and Research teams to continually improve the instructional design of WIDA materials. Direct the activities of the WIDA Help Desk, a telephone and online service that provides assistance via a toll-free number and email to teachers, school administrators and state department of education personnel from 27 states.
