Mariana Castro, Manager
Professional Development

Mariana Castro coordinates the professional development activities of the WIDA Consortium. In this role, she helps states build capacity through trainings, workshops, the dissemination of information, and the implementation of language standards across their curricula. She also delivers professional development and represents WIDA at state and national conferences. Finally, Mariana serves on the WIDA Research Subcommittee. She holds an M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction, and a B.A. in Chemistry and Education. She was an educator for sixteen years and is a learner for life. Her interests include educational equity, cognitive science, and issues in curriculum and instruction of English language learners.
