WIDA ELP Standards and Resource Guide, 2007 Edition
The WIDA ELP Standards and Resource Guide, 2007 Edition, Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12 is a key component of WIDA's mission of promoting educational equity and academic achievement to linguistically diverse students.
The WIDA ELP Standards are designed as a curriculum and instruction planning tool that also serve as the basis for formative and large-scale assessment.

WIDA MODEL™ Assessments
The
WIDA Measure of Developing English Language (MODEL)™ box kits may be used as a placement test and/or a benchmark evaluation of progress for first through fifth graders. In 2011, the Grades 6-8 and 9-12 versions of the test will be released as well.
The test administrator materials in each kit are reusable. Single kits contain materials for 25-30 student administrations whereas double kits may be used to test 50-60 students. Additional student test booklets, scoresheets, and replacement test administrator materials can be purchased separately.
WIDA's English Language Learner CAN DO Booklets
In fall of 2008, WIDA released grade level cluster-specific versions of its CAN DO Descriptors. The Descriptors are commonly used by ESL teachers in coaching general education teachers in the first steps of learning to differentiate instruction for English language learners.
These spiral-bound booklets are available by grade level cluster (PreK-K, 1-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12) and they contain the CAN DO Descriptors for that cluster, along with WIDA's Performance Definitions. This handy resource is durable and ideal for working with students, parents/guardians, general education teachers, administrators, and all other stakeholders in the education of English language learners.
The CLIMBS™ Course Participant Materials & Support Package
These materials are available to those who will be enrolling in a local CLIMBS course facilitated by trained facilitators who have attended the CLIMBS Instructor Institute. It is not available for purchase by the general public.
The package contains:
- One copy of the CLIMBS Participant Materials Handbook
- One copy of the WIDA ELP Standards and Resource Guide, 2007 Edition
- Technical assistance including enrollment in the online CLIMBS course module
